Telstra deploy Calyptech's Voice Quality Enhancement System

MELBOURNE, Victoria, April 14, 2004 - Telstra Corporation, Australia ’s leading telecommunications service provider, has deployed Calyptech’s Voice Quality Enhancement System, the VQEST300, within their CDMA Wireless Local Loop (WLL) network.

Telstra chose to deploy the VQEST300 solution following an extensive four month trial that demonstrated the product’s ability to meet the demanding call quality requirements of WLL unlike any other currently available echo cancellation product.

“The complex technical challenge of providing acceptable voice quality in a WLL network makes this an excellent test bed to prove the potential of the technology” stated John Maher, CEO of Calyptech. “Having demonstrated that the VQEST system provides landline quality for echo control over complex hybrid fixed and wireless networks, the way is now open for carriers to enhance the call quality of various networks and so increase their competitive advantage in the highly competitive telephony marketplace.”

Often on mobile networks inferior voice quality mistakenly attributed to poor reception could be significantly improved with the more capable voice enhancement solution offered by Calyptech.”
