Calyptech releases the new "Integrated Fixed Wireless Terminal" with ADSL2+ Interface

MELBOURNE, Victoria – Calyptech today announced the release of their "Integrated Fixed Wireless Terminal" or iFWT; a unique ruggedised gateway solution that connects to a UMTS/3G wireless network to provide Telephone, Fax and Broadband wireline services.

The iFWT is designed to drive long copper pairs to customer premises, with distances of up to 5km, and delivers broadband to the customer's home using ADSL2+ technology.

Calyptech CEO John Maher was quoted as saying “The iFWT is the ideal solution to allow broadband and telephone services to be delivered seemlessly to customers in hard to reach environments. Calyptech has tested the iFWT in location around Rural Australia, in some of the harshest climates on earth, and has demonstrated the delivery of Telephone and ADSL2+ services using UMTS/3G wireless backhaul"

The iFWT could be described as a mini-dslam with wireless backhaul, and provides a unique solution to any Telecommunications Network Supplier requiring a fast, cost effective way to connect its remote or hard to reach customer base to the mainstream services enjoyed in the denser population centres.
