The Calyptech FRIA-100 is a carrier grade,
rack mounted system designed to adapt
between multiple HSSI and un-channelised
DS3 (G.703) interfaces.
The FRIA-100 is used to interface high
performance Data Terminal Equipment
(DTE) including bridges and routers to an
un-channelised 44.736Mbps DS3 service,
from a Service Provider. The FRIA-100 is
connected to the DTE using the HSSI
interface.

Carrier grade high speed frame relay interface adapter - HSSI to DS3
The FRIA-100 sub-rack is provisioned with a single
Network Management unit, and up to eleven HSSI to DS3
Interface Adapter units.
An SNMP agent running in the Network Management
unit, presents a single MIB database to the network
management system. The MIB contains all accessible
information for both the Network Management and the
Interface Adapter units.
The HSSI Interface connector is a Micro D 50 pin, high
density SCSI II type receptacle.
The DS3 interface connectors are 75ohm coaxial 1.0/2.3
series connectors.
The High-Speed Frame Relay Interface Adaptor sub-rack
is designed to be mounted into a 19 inch
telecommunications rack. Each sub-rack supports one
Network Management (NM) unit, with up to eleven HSSI/
DS3 Interface units. The Power Interface panel supports
dual feed -48VDC telecommunications supplies.
